It is a terrible things that you feel tired all the time, Dr Maggie Ju helps to boost your energy.
Chronic fatigue and low energy
Qi is energy system in Chinese medicine. This is equivalent to Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) energy system which is the universal energy source in all biological systems. ATP is energy-carrying molecule found in the cells of all living things and provides energy to drive many processes in living cells such as all muscle movements, heart beats, nerve signals and chemical reactions inside the body. ATP carried energy is obtained from food molecules and oxygens. It is estimated that the human body uses roughly 2 × 1026 transient molecules of ATP or more than the bodies weight; 160 kg of ATP in a day.
When the energy is needed by the cells, ATP is break down to ADP to release energy for the cells to use. After ATP being and energy are used, the cells restore ATP by converting ADP back to ATP. These processes occur in the cell membrane called mitochondria. Because our body consume so much energy in a day, we need constantly refuel to restore energy by eating nutritious food and breathing in oxygen and the heart and blood circulatory system need continually supply this substances to the cells to produce energy ATP.
If any part of the pathway is blocked, the qi and energy supply and circulation will be blocked. We would feel lack of energy and tired. Acupuncture helps improve blood circulation, keep sufficient energy supply to the body and boost our energy.
10 Reasons why you should try acupuncture to reduce fatigue
Fatigue is a common complaint in the clinic. Nonspecific fatigue is fatigue with no underlying medical cause. Some survey has shown that 20% of people feel unusually tired at any given time. It’s unusual to find anything physically wrong. However excessive fatigue affects one’s quality of life.
How to get rid of fatigue? Acupuncture is one of the methods that you should try. Why
No1 Many things in daily life can cause stress and stress makes you tired. Acupuncture can help reduce stress as a result it can help reduce fatigue.
No2 Brain is the largest energy consumer and all the energy come from blood supply to the brain. Acupuncture can help improve brain blood circulation and energy supply to reduce fatigue.
No3 Inflammation anywhere in the body can make you feel tired. Acupuncture reduces inflammation to reduce fatigue.
No4 The tension of the body blocks blood circulation and makes you feel tired. Acupuncture reduces tension and improves blood circulation to reduce fatigue.
No5 Chronic pain makes you tired. If you have chronic pain anywhere, this could make you feel tired. Acupuncture releases chronic pain and reduces fatigue.
No6 Imbalanced hormones can make you feel tired. Acupuncture can help resume hormone balance reduce stress hormones, consequently it reduces fatigue.
No7 Poor blood circulation can cause toxins accumulate in the body and makes you feel tired. Acupuncture improves blood circulation and improves fatigue.
No8 Insomnia can make you extremely tired. Acupuncture can improve sleep and reduce fatigue.
No 9 Emotions such as anxiety can make you tired. Acupuncture is effective to release emotion and improve fatigue
No 10. Acupuncture releases β -endorphin. If you are tired all the time, you might have low β endorphins in immune cells. Recent research has shown that β -endorphin concentrations in the immune cells of chronic fatigue patients were significantly lower than in healthy subjects.
Research has shown that acupuncture is effective for fatigue
Chronic fatigue is a widespread symptom, with a prevalence of approximately 10% to 15% in the general population worldwide. Chronic fatigue presents as an overall lack of systemic energy that last for a few months and cannot be released by rest, affecting daily normal activities. It impairs the normal quality of life dramatically. Unexplained chronic fatigue is categorized into idiopathic chronic fatigue (ICF) and chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). Idiopathic chronic fatigue (ICF) is sustained fatigue with unknown underlying pathologies. A prevalence of ICF is 10 times higher than that of CFS in the general population. Research has shown that older adults with ICF had reduced overall mitochondrial content which is energy producing device and its signalling function in the muscle compared to their age-matched group without ICF. Another study has shown significant alterations of oxidative parameters as well as antioxidant parameters in patients with ICF which indicates that oxidative stress is related to ICF.
Acupuncture can help with ICF. A research studied the effect of acupuncture on chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) and idiopathic chronic fatigue (ICF). The result has shown that 4 weeks in addition to usual care may help improve fatigue in CFS and ICF patients.
